Fondazione Giannino Bassetti is a prominent Italian non-profit organization that works for promoting Responsible Innovation. It brings together multiple entities from industry, governance and civil society to discuss the impact of innovation in a wide range of fields: from biotechnologies to neuroscience, from robotics and artificial intelligence to design and education.
The intricacy of these themes highlights a special need for clarity in communicating its nature and mission.
A long-time client and partner of mine, with the Foundation I worked on many different projects and initiatives, like the Estensione design course at Politecnico di Milano, the investigation on the Self-Driving Society or the semester of conferences Meet the Media Guru | Around Mobility.
The Foundation asked me to conceive an audiovisual piece that could illustrate its history, mission, activities. I came up with the idea of a visual storytelling that, through very well-known examples of innovations, could depict the depth of the themes surrounding Responsible Innovation and the long history of the Foundation.
We worked together during a period of three months to mock up the storyboard, co-create the structure of the video, and set up the art direction for the piece. At last, we teamed up with Stefano Agabio and Studio Ianus, who realized the motion design and animation.
